It is truly as sad day..........

News today that my car is now going on holiday, to Scotland, to Audi Uk's "Centre of Excellence". Until now I have been without it for 5 weeks, and told I might not see it for another couple of months.

I know it's one of those things, but let's hope that it gets figured. Turns out the REAR diff was changed, not the front, as had codes recorded. Then the o/s/f wheel bearing, o/s/f driveshaft, steering rack and re geo'd. All this and sound monitors placed and all other visual checks done.

Hi Doodlebug, have a new q7 to be getting on with. Bit of a lump in comparison, could be worse

If you're not happy with the Q7 push it back. They should be putting you in RS4/6 or R8 for this farce.

I was given a Q7 when my S4 was in for extensive work. I kicked off about having a Q7 and got an S5 cab which I really liked.

The dealer loaned me an A6 Avant for a week and then a Q7 for 5 weeks by Audi UK when my RS4 was a year old. The Q7 came in handy for the trips to the DIY stores to get loft installation and the weather was as good as it is for the pass month.

I must admit, a Q7 in this weather is maybe more favourable than getting my own car trashed with roads, trees, puddles, floods etc!! :bigblink:

Well. Today is a day for thought......not a good day either. As my car has been away now for Audi uk to investigate, they have replied to Slough Audi with their findings and suggestions.

Had a call from a bossman and top tech from Slough today saying the car Has been chipped. Not surprising as it went like <beep> off a slippy stick , so Audi uk don't want to warrant the repairs any further. They want me to have my money back and they would sell the car on in the trade, to go to some unsuspecting purchaser who would get the same grief.

Trouble is, I cannot find a similar specced car with similar low mileage. I have told them I will think of what I see as a solution and am finding myself here as I want my car. I would still want a new gearbox/ front diff. As they reckon they don't want to spend £15000 returning it back to standard, ( new box/diff, ecu, exhaust). If they change the box, limit the drivetrain repairs on warranty till end of term (end October) but cover warranty on rest of car as normal, if a need arises with drivetrain we sensibly/with understanding, come to an arrangement through warranty if possible.

Saves me starting again looking for "The car" changing my plate, cashing in tax.

Also, as was a paper exercise getting the right purchase figure re trade in and buy price, I won't end up getting shafted even more when they say " you paid £xxxx for the car... Any thoughts??? Legal responsibility?? Liability :bash: ???

Just a random related comment, I'm looking into b8 s4s at the moment and there are quite a few reports of diff failures with modded cars. Worrying, as the tuning potential is a genuine crowd pleaser it seems. Class action against Chris Harris anyone? :)
