Hi guys,
can you please confirm from first hand if the RS3 shifts to 7th gear when in sport mode (S7) ? Have a customer who claims that before tuning it
did go to S7.
GOLF DSG7 does shift to S7 but as I know RS3 does not and I cannot prove to him (last thing will be remap to stock and prove it).
Thank you,
TT

I haven't been fast enough to see it drop into S7 but I guess three figure speeds it will do.

Customer said the it dropped into 7th gear when driving even around 180 km (half throttle). Tried to explain him the logic of sport mode, but no success...

No.
It will never shift into 7th on its own.
even vmax it doesn't use 7th.

Just curious, why not?

Because 7th is a fuel economy gear and has no extra power over 6th.
So when in 'sport' mode, I.e you are telling the car you want power, why would it go beyond 6th?

Fair enough. I'd wrongly assumed 7th would have some more juice.

The DSG on the Golf R is only six speed, so a bit different.
As long as it changes into 7th in D mode and M mode, I really can't see a problem. As stated above S mode is sport mode.
