Police car rammed after car jacking
Last updated Thu 17 Jan 2013

A police car was rammed after a carjacking at the Birmingham NEC last night.

Two masked men threatened the owner of a black Audi RS3 with a knife as he returned to his vehicle outside the Hilton Metropole Hotel.

The thieves sped off in the stolen car along the A45 towards Birmingham, but the car was fitted with a tracker and was quickly located by the police.

As officers approached, the Audi rammed the patrol car, leaving it unable to continue the pursuit.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses to come forward to help in the search for those responsible.http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... 14mouQV18Y

Pretty scary stuff

But very common in that part of the country I am afraid

They will probably get sentenced to 3 or maybe 4

Hours community service .....

Yep, sadly a lot of scumbags around here. God knows why they went down the A45 and didn't hit either of the 3 motorways.

They had barely left the NEC when the Police found them, Clock Lane is very close by.
Glad the Police at least had a go although the road was a narrow dead end so not exactly had to contain them in
(see map below).

Looks like they recovered it

The big problem with the RS3 is that there a lot of little chavs driving early 8P A3s and even S3s who are a ready market for stolen body and trim parts - same happened with the Mk4 R32 when it came out.
I don't think this was such an issue with the B7, they were just great heist cars.

Bit of a poor show by the bib imo, dead end street and the tea leaves still managed to get away :bash:
At least the car was recovered, had it not been I'm sure parts of it would have been all over different A3's around Brum like Necks says

Not sure what type of Audi they stole but they won't be doing it again.

I live 10 mins from NEC. Just picked up B7 RS4 today - thank god I have a tracker fitted. But I have lived around these parts all my life and this is a rare occurrence around here.

I don't want to scare you but a Tracker isn't really worth much nowadays. These scumbags can quickly find a disable one or park in underground until they do.
