totally different to the R8 ... I'd say on a wet, narrow country road in the UK, the RS 3 will out run the R8 ... its so effortless to drive stupid quick in awful conditions

but on a track there is not much that can keep up with a well driven V10 R8

That is exactly how the 3 feels to me; I hack around the Cotswolds & Wiltshire lots and so far have not been either short on grip or grunt, never experienced something so capable regardless of conditions........I can't see much this side of a GTR being more capable.

The same roads always highlighted short comings of the M3 and the M5's chasis, so many over taking opportunities or plain fun blats would be tempered unless the conditions were perfect, even then, the M5 would still give you the ocasional heart stopper, a flickering TC light isn't what you want to see or feel mid overtake! .......nor what you want with 3 figures showing (allegedly) on twisty A roads with zero room for tail slippage.

I am no brand fanboy but this little RS has me smitten, couldn't give a stuff what others points of view are, I am sure they are all valid to lesser or greater extents, it just does it for me. Off to get a room.

Having said that, in a game of top trumps, R8 V10?.......please. Maybe even turbo charge it

Totally agree....this car is pretty awesome.
I said it at the time it was first released, it's the Audi RS bargain on the decade...£40k for a brand new practical, cool, fun, unique car that in std format is very quick...add a simple stage1 map and it will outrun the lardy £65k B8 RS 4

Looking good DK; what I should have done today but had to board the loft out to put the summer tyres up in storage. Wonder if washing my 3 on Christmas day may been see as OTT?

It is getter better every time I drive it but still needs a bit more power in it. When a 3.0TDi B8 A4 can get close when rolling it can only mean one thing, more power required.

Tried launch control today as well; all I can say is you will need pristine asphalt to do it on as I tried it and got 4 wheel spin initially but when it dug in it is rapid and dare I say it more agressive than the RS4. But then launching a B7 was an art form, this can do it all day long.

How are you finding the comfort seats DK? The seems to suit the car well and are supportive althoguh I am a bit bigger boned then you....

I like the comfort seats, they are very comfortable....but, if i could have i would have spec'd buckets just for the sense of occasion and special....but the comfort seats are fine, and plenty of leg room in the rear
