With cold weather seemingly approaching what are RS3 owners doing in respect of winter wheels tyres? Are you sticking with the wheels you have and just changing to winter tyres? If so what brand? Or do you have a winter set of rims? Was thinking 18" rims with 235/40's on front and 225/40's on the rear?

I looked at this a while back, choices are limited and costly, RS3's offset appears to be a rarity which doesn't help.

I think I'm going to stick on both cars again this winter, I've coped to date.

How do you find the diamond polish edges cope with the salt? I've heard conflicting reports about corrossion of the exposed surfaces albeit i pretty much bathed mine in G-Techniq C5 when I got it so they should be good to go.

Not had a winter yet, but given the wife has had a good crack at 3 of the 4 it's somewhat immaterial!

The wheels may very well have been diamond cut on a lathe to get the flat finish but they are not diamond polished finish ala say the Monza alloys on the Golf GTI. They are also not clear lacquered as the parts which look as if they have been finished on a lathe are painted with a matt finish paint/lacquer.
Matching the finish after you have kerbed them is going to be tricky - anyone had any refurbed yet?

Just procured myself a set of 18" rims, sourcing tyres now.

Et50? That's why the wheels have no concave then. Can you get away with lower or are the brakes a big problem?

Will soon tell you, have 8Jx18 ET45's on the way so will see what happens but 5mm concave should still be OK on the front brakes. Just to check, our wheels are 57.1mm centre bore size?

ET42 fit fine - all the european guys run this set up. Price is for 4!

What have you gone for?

R8 V8 replicas, wanted something nearly as easy to clean as the OEM rotors but looked right for the car.
