txs, i may go for a set

we need 225/40/18 92V winter tyres?

they seam pretty exspensive ... kwik fit offer a falken for £153 each, are they any good or are there better winter tyres for a performance car?

The tyre tests are all over the place in trems fo the results and don't include all makes and models. TBH I'm not fafing on with staggered sizes front and rear, instead electing for 235/40/18 which is 0.3% less rolling radius that the 235/35/19 front sumer tyres and 0.8% greater on the rear vs 225/35/1 OEM summers so nothing in it. Looking at either Dunlop 4D's, Michelin Alpins, Vredestein Wintracs or Conti's depending on price.

Be careful with 235 on the rear. I run 225 all round on ET42 18's. Very very very occasionally one of the rears rubs......

That's a good point, I could put cheap track rubber on them, save destroying the conti's

They are very nice n5tews. Nearly bought a set but they defeated my strategy of easy / quick to clean rims so I have stuck with five spokes Hopefully arriving today; just got to get tyres sorted out for them.

Mine are in the process of getting colour changed so will hopefully have them C5 coated, on the car and pics up next week.
