Love the car, looks a 1000 times better than it does in photos!
Just popped back for a quick bite to eat then some more driving I think..
Folding mirrors, where's the button to fold them? On my Cupra you just used to turn the mirror toggle all
the way round..

dont pussy the engine, modern engines need to be used, dont thrash it but dont baby it, mine will be going to 5k once it has 100 miles on it and red line when it has 600
the S3 I have is now transformed from when i picked it up, its run in properly now

Re: Cars being built next week!
I've heard lots of differnt ways of running a new car in..
Stay below 3000 as above
Bed the rings in with high load low revs for the first 30-40 miles, and then gradually build up..
To tell the truth I haven't got a clue.. Take it most people are just driving it like normal but obviously not caining the ass out of it lol
when can I try launch control

i was always told its load that knackers a new engine not revs, you need decent revs to get the oil pressure up so that the oil can seal on the linersAdams RS wrote:I've heard lots of differnt ways of running a new car in..

we treated our polo gti like a baby kitten and by 6k miles it had burnt 6ltrs of oil (seal not set) i took it out for a 30 min hardcore hoon and boom its stopped burning oil

Re: Cars being built next week!
I bought an octavia vrs last year and an S4 this year both from new and did a mixture of town and motorway driving with the odd thrash here and there for the first 1000 miles and both were/are fine.
My S4 just passed 1300 miles and the engine is purring more and the exhaust seems more throaty. Strangely it seems like this after the cars first proper long thrash (half a tank of fuel worth). It was sooooo much fun.
I think a mixture of driving without being harsh on the car is fine, it is a performance car after all.
Had anyone try and take you on yet?

Cool will just mix it up.
Funny enough yes, had a focus st right up my chuff yesterday but didn't bother as I only had the car a couple of hours... Would of been good to smoke him though, was on a set of straights with roundabouts
The time will come lol

Re: Cars being built next week!
Focus ST, pah! Don't know why some cars bother!
I had a golf GTD try and keep up with me, I could see the two lads look round when they heard the exhaust rumble and the fart noise it does on the changes. He caught me at the next lights and could see them eyeing me up. Obviously nailed them, again, why did they bother!
Where are you from?
