Why is alot of money?...that is surely down to perception of value.Rick_RS4 wrote: saw you coming, can get an R8 for that or a R35 skyline, and they are superiorRick_RS4 wrote:
I respect your opinion, however I have one too.
GTR - non-starter it's a Nissan.....rubbish interior, style and percieved image not for me....
R8 - £49k..mmmm...maybe a 4 year old dog of an R8...not an everyday car and my daughter wouldn't get in the back.
Also, I try to fly under the radar and not follow the crowd with the usual choice of cars of cars...
I bet you've not driven one either.....go drive an RS3.
im not saying its not a nice car but thats a hell of a lot of money, i agree about jap interiors, they have washing machine switches, R8 yeah ok slightly off the price but if your mad enough to blow 50 grand why not a biit more.
are they haldex?
My RS4 was £57-odd k new and is it really that much of a better car.....I'd say no it's not, More practical yes, nicer noise maybe but from a driving experience I'd put them on a par.
If £50k why not £55k, then why not £60K? You have to draw the line somewhere. £50k was my budget......list all the cars you can get new/nearly new for £50k...it's not very long and after the RS4 options are very, very limited.......as you'll see my posts re: S4, nothing is out there to replace it. Carrera 4S = £65-70k for the spec I'd want.
£55-60k is a hell of a lot of money for a Nissan, £65-70k is alot of money for a Porsche. It's all relative.
Like I say go drive one....I did and saw the value proposition hence I bought one.
And there are only 400-odd in the country.
They are haldex and in the real world there is no difference to that and Torsen........people always see that as a handicap......not in my eyes.
It's a great package IMO and spending another £10-15k wouldn't have made a difference in what I got out of the car from a driving experience perspective.
The RS3 is the same proposition - alot of money but alot of car too.
