I won't be moving on to this, it looks like a 'pretend' RS just like the RS5 - what are Audi doing? Also, I bought my RS4 from a main dealer for £32k, took it back 1 year later (I'd only done 5k miles and put new front boots on) and they offered me £22k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why would I buy an Audi again when that's the response you get when going for a part exchange??? (For an A6 3.0 TDI) This RS3 looks WAY overpriced IMHO!

Dont like the exhaust, looks too ordinary. All RS's are mean't to have twin ovals!

Really says who? Are you forgetting the RS2, RS4 (B5)

Next you'll be saying all RS's are mean't to have flat-bottom steering wheels and buckets!

FFS guys think back to the original RS ethos.

Audi are, IMHO, killing the goose that laid the golden egg by making an RS version of every model, making more than one RS at once, making them not just a model "run out" special edition,...

RS used to be rare and special, Audi are turning it into just another devalued badge.

some info from Audi
There are choices of 5 exterior colours which are
Ibis White
Misano Red
Phantom Black
Daytona Grey
Suzuka Grey

the first UK customer deliveries are expected in April 2011.
The official unveiling of the car will be at the Geneva motor show in March 2011.

RS 3 Sportback 2.5TFSI
Basic £32,254.17
VAT at 20% £6,450.83
RRP £38,705.00
ROTR £39,900.00 (relative RS bargain IMHO see below)

compare that with a similar spec'd TT RS (manual) using the configuration tool
all 5 std RS3 colours are +£500
19" titanium rotor alloys +£1225
aluminum styling pack +£665
SAT Nav plus +£1650
BOSE + £475
Mobile phone bluetooth +£245

ROTR Price:49,640.00 and thats at 17.5% VAT so £50.5k+ in 2011
and prob circa £52k for a TT RS S-tronic

so they must have cut a few corners somewhere on the RS3 compared to the TT RS

whoops forgot that the AMI, rear parking sensor & sports exhaust are extras on the TT RS so that's another grand and a bit, but ibis white is £0, so the other colours are likely going to be £500 ..... £53k vs £40.5k

so yes I agree that Audi are selling the family silver off to create larger profits

£40k for a brand spanking new RS is very good value IMO ... My S3 s tronic black edition is something like £32k?

I'm pretty excited about this car. It looks the part and looks good value when compared with an S3 with all the same spec. I had a 2.0Tq s-line full spec for a bit between the RS4 and the S5 and it was wicked. Esp good in the snow earlier this year. I'll seriously be considering one. I'll just want to make sure that it stays squat on the road (which with Q I'm sure it will) as my last adventure with a little powerful car for day to day (Astra VXR) was fun for a bit but it's only fun if you can get the power down without feeling the thing is going to spin. Also want to make sure there's a proper set of brakes on it.

Pity it's not in sprint blue though! That's a true RS color!

Could not find magnetic ride on the price list. Also surprised that it weighs in 155kg more than my S3 Sportback - STronic and bigger engine but what else?
Maserati GranTurismo GTS Auto, S3 Sportback, TT2 3.2 Roadster, Disco3 for the heavy stuff.
