.... how the f**k did quattro GmbH let these highly developed low volume cars on an established decade old platform out the factory with a sub-standard prop?
Presumably they are all going to do this one day and it might not be particularly convenient when it does go, I mean 2000 miles?!

It's looking like they didn't do enough development and testing, maybe they were pushed to get it on sale sooner than it should have been?

..but 2000 road miles and it fails? Surely that's the equivalent of no more than a few development laps of the 'ring?
Presumably the Haldex bares a resemblance to that in the Mk5 R32/8P S3 so isn't exactly new tech - or maybe that's it? It's not been beefed up over these 250/265 PS cars?
TT RS and RS3 are the first RS cars to not have the tough old proper quattro....

If it required beefing up then that would have shown up in a few hard miles or laps, but maybe there wasn't time to include it in the test schedule?

A few years ago while working for an automotive consultancy I destroyed a pre-production engine that had gone through all of the manufacturers test schedule, but that schedule didn't include running for more than a few seconds above 4000rpm and hadn't discovered that there was insufficient oil feed to number 3 cylinder main bearing - so I lunched it in one lap of a fairly short test track!

It looks like all you RS3 owners are sitting on a ticking time bomb. :audibash:
