Couldn't see the badge on the grill in the interior pic.

I think Bose is WAY overrated, I couldn't even tell the difference and deffinately wouldn't pay a premium for it. Again, as with my RS4, I really dislike the buckets, they eat up too much of the cabin and rear space.

Love the SZ grey, my second favourite colour to ibis ;)

interesting as i think the difference between bose and the stock system is massive, the stock system lacks fidelity and the mid range sounds like the speakers are underwater to me, bose has crisp and clean mid and top end (with out the annoying tssshhh tssshh tshhh drone of tweaters) and the base cranked up is very deep but again clean but with out booming. In the context of a cheap car audio of course but for a mid range car system its pretty decent and vastly better than most of the dross audi fit to their cars.

i dont like the buckets for a daily driver either :nodder:

I've got Bose all over my house, I'm a massive fan, but I think their car audio is poor. I've had it in a few cars now an even in my 911 which is a premium car to say the least I thought it was just ok. When the A5 first came out my Mum bought a 3.0TDi Quattro which had B&O which I thought was good but even then at anything over 60% volume it lacks clarity.

I will say at this point I was BIG into car audio as a youngster, kitting all my car out with amps, subs and the like (god I make myself sound old!).

Also, I love the sound of the car and the whoosh of the turbo, I hardly have the stereo on!

RE the buckets........... When I was looking to buy in August I was getting the usual bull from all the independent garages, "you really need the buckets sir, come resale they are invaluable.......".

Funny how those 2 cars are STILL for sale 2 months on and even after dropping the price £3k ;)

Theres no way i'd pay for Bose as an extra on any car, I've heard the difference between oem and Bose and its marginally different.

I'd save the cash and upgrade to two decent front speakers which even just that blow away Bose i'm afraid.

I really wanted buckets however after seeing the lack of rear space with them in the RS3 i chose not to seeing as though one of the reasons for changing was to allow a baby seat in the back.
Despite me being careful in the RS4 they still wore/creased on the bolster badly after 6k. I'll be keepong this car for 3 years so didnt want it to look well used at the end of it.

They look better just not as practical.

High fidelity in a bean can are mutually exclusive.

I like a bit of high end audio, Naim being my present cup of tea, and there is zero chance of getting anywhere close in a car.

The Bose in the RS3 is OK but nowt more. The Bose in the RS6 is better but still far from the last word.

Well said :jump_clap:

A car is an echo-prone reflective metal and glass box attached to highly vibratory objects (engine, especially if it's a 4 cylinder with it's large second order forces, and suspension running on an uneven road), with the prime listener sitting well off to one side - music in a car will always be a compromise.

IMHO once the setup (source, equalisation, amp, speakers, locations, etc.) are good enough any more money spent is only going to get minimal returns on investment.

You'll miss the torque at high speeds but you'll be impressed with the way it launches itself.

I'd imagine a remap would help at the top-end but I'm not risking the warranty at the moment.

GIve the engine time to loosen up too. I've noticed a big difference now I've a few miles on the clock ;-)
