Beginning to think this upgrade was a huge mistake

Gone is the savage instant stopping power, gone is most of the brake feel, now it feels like the pads are solid concrete, you need 10 times the brake pressure to get it to stop

They just feel like normal car brakes

Very down because of this

Bedding-in these 'new' pads are the real issue here Dave; once done, everything should get back to normal.

I'm still running the original set-up (with own fix) but will be having the upgrade in September: I now know more of the changes made, however, I'll be keeping my options open on the brake pads I use from there on.

I had this done and found them to be way way better. My face and the windscreen nearly met first time I pressed the peddle hard.

These Audi/Brembo brake pads have a Pagid friction material - the originals/my brake pads are Pagid AQ 04 (though marked with both Audi and Brembo identification)

Pagid recommend the following bedding-in procedure: "4-6 brake applications with medium pedal pressure from approx 90mph to 50mph, not allowing wheels to lock. (No brake dragging)

Allow for a distance of 300 - 400metres between brake applications for a cooling period."

There is more, and you can find in on the Pagid web page, but I've now sorted a number of RS3s - with the 47i6 upgrade - using this procedure...

That IS GOOD news...

But different people report different characteristics Nick: I'm now concluding it's maybe people...

Having had some fascinating feedback from Audi UK, post-Goodwood, I'm now persuaded to have the 47i6 upgrade to my own RS3 in September; I'll bed-in religiously and then monitor...

AND I will be hanging on to my original brake pads, just in case...

Mine are fine after the upgrade. Had a spirited drive this afternoon and no squeaks, no fading or delay.

Coming up for 200 miles

Still pretty much the same, bite and feel have completely gone and you have to press much harder, a lot of the specialness of the car has gone

The squeak has gone

It stops (I set the hazard lights off this morning, why would an RS have the hazards linked to the brakes?) but no where near as well

car has been fully tested, brakes are working as expected

problem is it has ruined the car for me, i would rather have the old squeaky but brilliant brakes back or just sell the car than use it as it is ...
