There were up until 2 weeks ago supposedly only 21 of that additional run unallocated.

Historically car manufacturers never release the special models early, all //M cars, RS, GT's etc all come towards the end of the cycle.

I'm guessing this is just a poor attempt to sell magazines......
Isn't that how Autocar has always sold magazines?! :FIREdevil:

Nickyboy an DK do you remember the discussion we had a few months back when i said Merc and Bmw were going to produce Awd drive cars and Audi needed to up their game, next year there will be A45 AMG also a B class and you can bet a C class AMG will follow they already have a new C 63 AMG BLACK SERIES which is another level again.I think this is why there is talk in the press that Audi could be producing new RS models and upping the game.

that's not bothered audi before, RS4s and M3s have often been on the market at different times, sometimes years apart

i suspect thou the 30k 135Mi will be a bigger problem to the S3 and RS3 than the new merc

audi did kinda dump there unsold allocation on the UK with very little notice to buyers plus with production ending very quickly after them being dumped here it was a case of dealers regging cars or losing their slots, pee's me of that VAG do this so much, they destroyed the residuals on my R32 by flooding the UK with cheap cars at the end of the run :bash:

Based on recent reviews and looking round other motors and also hearing what's coming up I think you are right. Before I was kind of an Audi person only and wouldn't even consider anything else. As Audi have become more popular perhaps they have been relying on their past to sell new cars.

In short I remember your post and I think you're right.

rumors are the 3 rs models to be shown next year are,- RS3-RS6-RS7.
rumor is all rs models from now on will come in year 3 of the model cycle ie, year 1=A, year 2=S, year 3=RS.
rumors say next RS3 will keep the 2.5, with power up to 380 and improved economy.
rumors also say next RS3 only available in s-tronic, and maybe all RS models s-tronic only.
there was also talk of a new generation of haldex for the new VAG MQB platform, but nothings been mentioned in the specs for the new 8V S3.

i have really tried to like like the current RS3, dont get me wrong i don't hate the car it just doesn't wow me like my B7 RS4 did. fingers crossed they nail the next RS3 it could be my next car.

there was a rumour that they where going to revive the quattro project, but with the A5 as base with the 5pot engine and some carbon body bits (rather than a carbon tub) to keep the cost down

im buying it if they do :biggrin3:

The rumour I heard was that this is why the S3 launch is being held back until March as opposed to earlier.

I don't see a new RS3 coming that soon. Not based on fact. Just my opinion.
