RS3 or S4?

Interesting debate.
Unfortunately the test drives never happened.
The Rs3 was sold and the S4 was a saloon when I was really after an avant.
So I am still none the wiser. I am back home with no new car to look forward to, and I am back in my winter car. Not a good result.
I am going to have to plan a weekend away without the family to go on a car hunt.
I think I will include a C63 estate in the mix.

I have never modified a car but seeing how Harris's S4 performed after a remap has made me consider an older S4 then keep a budget aside for any possible problems.

Time and test drives will tell.

I've had a look at an A3 sport back.
I think it is too small for my needs
Going for a cheap S4 avant then wait for the next RS4 and hope it is turbo charged.

The 3 is not perfect, OEM it does have understeer in it but a decent set of tyres and in my case a sub £200 rear ARB will cure that and makes it almost as good as my RS4 which was sublime.

Apologies for the threadjack - what ARB did you have fitted?

034 Motorsports, I'll do a write up when I get a chance and back on summer tyres this weekend to see exactly what the transformation is.

I am on the 034 rear ARB as well. Do you have any knocking issues with it? My ARB is knocking against the drive knuckle while going up slope or when there are occupuants in the back seat, driving straight is no problem. However, when I went to track, after a few laps, the knocking noise became more severe and I have to remove it and put back the stock.

They've sent you the wrong version as the first one they sent to me when we moved it around rubbed up against the rear diff bolts which causes the noise. Get in touch with Laszlo Tallai and ask him for the same one he has just sent to Revolution to fit my car.

The correct version does not have any issues and its been tested to the point where the back end steps out with no understeer

ordered last week, arrived today will get it fitted at revolution in May
