Privacy Glass vs no privacy glass on a daytona grey RS3

Post by Daytona3 » Sat Jan 19, 2013 3:08 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm undecided between two options I have on what's best.

Daytona Grey RS3 with NO Privacy Glass and Matt Alum Finish around front bumper grille, rear diffuser and sides of rear spoiler?

OR

Daytona Grey RS3 with Privacy Glass and NO Matt Alum Finish ?

Is the Matt Alum finish on the bumpers easily scratched with stone chips and the like?

Cheers :bash:

U want the matte alu on the front, makes it much more aggressive and sets it apart from a S3

I think matt alu on Daytona would look good to give contrast but on light colour cars black pack looks decent. The inoy bit that biothers me with matt alu pack is that the grille itself is silver but the side pods are black which IMO looks odd; they should all be the same colour.

I don't agree P_G ... If the side grills on the alu pack were alu, it would look ridiculous...with just the grill it shapes the nose to a point, agressive...

Just like the V10 R8 grill. That's chrome, but side grills are black

I too wouldn't have the side grilles alu mesh either mind (that would look very wrong), I'd have them all black like I have. They were on the RS4 and it looked great there too. The alu mesh is a bit bling, IMO of course.

Absolutely, its all what you prefer.

I regularly see Daytona and Misano RS 3's at work all with alu pack

Daytona looks great with it...Misano, not soo much!

Misano is a colour that benefits from black pack.

My Daytona car came with privacy glass, I wouldn't have spec 'ed it personally. And Direct Line wanted several hundred pounds extra to insure the car because of this feature!

Privacy glass seems to work well on a Daytona RS3 - Alu Pack does not and makes the car look chavvy. You will no doubt please the Corsa boys with the Alu Pack :bigblink:

I have the aluminium accents on my daytona RS3 and think it slightly increases it presence.I don't have privacy glass and hunted for a used car without it.

Tinted windows can be spotted easilly if you know to look for, for that reason I would go with privacy glass and wrap or paint the alu bits if required.

Factory optional extras should not make any difference to your premium - all my insurers were interested in is anything NOT factory fitted.
