What was Monkey talking about?

RS3 struggled on economy next to the 135i?

Just seen a whopping 363 miles out of 55 litres which by my reckoning is 30mpg? 50% more efficient than the RS4 and fill ups are less financially painful with a smaller tank. It's going on a Dyno Dynamics dyno on Thursday so what's the guesses as to output?

Mines really struggling to do 300 and I do ALOT of motorway....TTRS would do 330 all day long so I recon I'm a gallon down vs. A gayRS....God knows how you got 363!?!?

Huh? I barely get 200 in the sticks and 120 around london, but i don't want to start another RS4 economy debate as there is one still knocking about from a month or so ago and this ones about the RS3.

I used to get the same ads but from between 63 and 66 litres on the same journey but as said this is 360+ on 55 litres and DIS said I still had 15 miles to get out of it. Even on winter tyres which are renowned for high rolling resistance I'm impressed.

At around the mileage you have now DK I was getting the same but just in this last tank that is the most I have gotten out of it. I'm tempted at some stage how may miles past 0 on the DIS it will do but will dig out my petrol can before I do!

Improves with age big time. I didn't get over 300 for the first few months. I now never get below 330 and my best was around 365.

I'll go for 340-345 BHP if your car is standard

I am averaging 330 per tank and I have been as high as 360 (only 1 tank mind) on a pure motorway drive; it was a few days of tootling....mincing about between 70-80.

What are Gordies? :biggrin3:

If you've see my commute unfortuntely there isn't much opportunity to need to burn fuel any quicker. I just stick the car in 'D' and let it get on with it. s-tronic comes into its own in stop start traffic and when I drive through Mackem and Smoggie zones and have to endure their sh*te driving what can you do?

Mind I beat just about everything out of the traps and the Tyne Tunnel tolls on either side :sekret: Must try launch control from there one of these days....

Sorry mate, Geordies ;)

So are you missing the RS4?

I miss tracking my RS4, the clio is good, but really do miss it, esp the driving position

I still miss the noise most and the handling to a degree, don't miss it's thirst. RS3 is different, if anything I don't feel as worried about it because it is that much more discreet. Everyone knew what the 4 was, largely because of the non-res valved exhaust and there were always people wanting to race which grew tiresome, the RS3 just scares the beep out of the unassuming. Also with the 4 I wanted to keep modifying it, with the 3 a set of ARB's, intercooler and remap and I think I'll be happy. Not even bothered about an aftermarket exhaust.

So what does the 135i get then?

Planning on mapping it soon?
