It looks miles better in the metal than pictures. A big thank you to drybeer / Andrew for sourcing the vehicle and arranging everything, a smooth and pain free process. Pity his franchise manager was a bit stingy on the extras coming with the car especially when he didn't have a p/x to consider anymore but drybeer did manage to bag a load liner, rubber mats and a tank of V-Power on top of everything else on the day.

Not really tested it much, just the trip home and was taking it easy. Initial impressions are the Conti's are noisy but they'll do, the front wheels look chunkier than the rears and s-tronic will take getting used to on the ratios to get the best out of the engine but when you do there is decent grunt there even with so few miles on the clock. I was right though it did sound muted even in sport mode so on the way home made a scheduled pit stop to Revolution to have the secondary cat bypass and Pipercross filter done in less than an hour. 90 miles in and only a1/4 tank used, all good comments from the family so they are happy and ironically more speace in the rear for the kids than the RS4.

Will give it time to break in, only other mod this side of Xmas will be ventureshield on the front end. And guess what, squeeky brakes. But then they need bedding in properly so I'll do that and then see what is what as I have only been doing light braking which probably has just shined them up rather then bedding them in. But so far enjoying it but still feel like I'm cheating on my RS4.

Very nice, glad you are pleased with it. The extra space is due to the none buckets, I notice that in the wife's A3.

I had Recaro comforts in the RS4 so not that, the interior space is just bigger but I suspect the rear bench is a little shallower than the RS4 from the way the kids seats fit.

Very nice too Graeme.

Look forward to hearing your views on how it compares to the RS4.

Hard to tell from photos but it is Suzuka Grey. Only really obvious when you sit it next to an Ibis white car then you see a stark contrast

Ventureshield has been around for some time from what I gather & is not the performance product it once was. If you're defo going the protection film route you should look at Xpel

Nice car btw. 22B's (Iain's) avant in RS3 guise

Very nice Graeme  , you need to get it mapped tho, makes a massive difference - much quicker than the RS4

I have looked at Paintshield but TBH two things stop me going that route; primarrily being their inflexibilty in fitting, i.e. I have to drive all the way to Peterborough (potentially a stone chip inducing drive) to have it done and find somewhere local to stay as well whilst it is done and second is that the application is twice the price not including fuel and accommodation costs. For the price they charge I could have the car bar the roof completely resprayed. It looks a great product but at this time Ventureshield being 6 miles away from me, someone I can easily go back to if there are any issues and the price is just the icing n the cake.

I am doing the 1000 mile run in before I try that which should only be a matter of weeks!

TBH I always let a new car bed in and as the dealer suggested the same that's fine, as said it's only a matter of weeks. Also interested to note that it is on fixed annual / 10k mile servicgin whcih apparently is the new gideline for RS's

Thanks Dave; I'm not going anywhere near mapping until the warranty expires (although Glasgow Audi's REVO warrantied remap is something I may investigate), same applied to the RS4. If I am going to change anything it will be tyres sooner rather than later, winter wheels as I fear salt corrosion on the diamond cut faces, Forge intercooler and Haldex controller. Possibly ARB's but have not pushed the car as yet so need to see how it reacts first before considering this.
