Official squeaking brakes recall !

Post by Macdaddy » Sun Oct 28, 2012 6:48 pm

Just a heads up for you guys, I've posted this on a few forums.

Was at my local Audi dealer today and asked the salesman i deal with about any recalls on the RS3, He asked if i was about to refer to squeaking brakes!!

He had another RS3 owner in complaining of it this week and Audi's official line is if the car is under 5,000 miles then its covered, Over that it looks like it'll be put down to wear and tear.

You need to contact the dealers asap and prior to 5,000 miles and have your issue raised and logged. There is currently no official Audi fix however i'm rest assured if logged then it'll be fixed when they have found the cause.

Result i say !!!!

Dare say if you were over 5k that you'd perhaps still have a case.

Got anymore detail?

My dealer gave us a funny look!

Of interest there is a software update related to low oil pressure on start up, this can be noted through a bit of a rattle on cold start up.

The Audi fag packet refers to recall 46F8 which is the brake ventilation recall. The software update (TPI) ref is 202899/2/2.
