Interesting Observation - Tyre Size difference and Changes?

Post by R5YUG » Thu May 31, 2012 4:58 pm

I've been re-enthused by cars (and car forums obviously) owning this RS3 that's for sure!
It has probably been mentioned already somewhere in the depths of this forum (my search couldn't find it - so sorry if this is duplicate information).
I was surprised to see that the front and rear tyre sizes are different (235/35 fronts and 245/25 rears). I'm fairly sure this is probably to reduce torque steer or something by Audi design boffins?

I'm toying with dropping my recently powder coated 19" BBS LM's on the car to see what they would look like and handle like.
My question is has anyone tried different tyre combinations and seen any marked difference in handling? I have 255/35/19's on the LM's and all with good tread so would be a shame to have to buy some new tyres :-)

For your viewing pleasure... my favourite wheels that used to sit on my B5 RS4.

Hi Guy

You may want to look at this thread http://www.vagoc.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=10253 TBH not a big fan of after market wheels but really like the look of BBS wheels on the Daytona Grey car
