Top Gear RS5 vs M3

I was hoping this thread would be started by now and as this is my first foray into forums I am going in at the deep end here. Did anyone else have an extreme hatred for Clarkson after Top Gear on Sunday or was it just me... Really I love the guy but having just got myself an RS5 and loving it, I get fed up with all these car reviewers who seem to think sideways is the correct way to drive a car.
Not sure about you guys but the reason I love my audis is because I kinda like going forward and being able to give it the beans when I want to and not when the conditions determine it possible.
Come on chaps and chapettes back me up here.....

Glad its not just me then! Big pinch of salt eh. I mean, if you put that much lock onto any car then press the loud peddle it will push wide. I managed to blag a Lotus Evora S track day last weekend. You know the car that is the pinnacle of handling, the benchmark all cars should aspire to. Oh by gosh it understeers if you push it too hard in a bend! By the way it is 70k specced up and although it looks nice and goes well it has the feel of a low volume car about it. I am sure all you guys have bought audis because they do everything great and are the best at most i.e. looks, build, performance... Hey but Im not bitter!
Thanks chaps feel better now I have vented.

They're both good cars and I really wouldn't get too upset, it makes it look as though you feel the need to justify your purchase and you don't, the RS5 is a desirable car. The fact is that the M3 seems to have the edge for pure driving thrills, so what? I'm pretty sure that Audi is not aiming the RS5 directly at the M3 driver (or the other way around), the cars offer slightly different things, which means you have a choice and you exercised yours and picked the one that Clarkson wouldn't.
It's funny how worked up we all get, it's just a journo playing aound a track, he doesn't have to drive the thing every day in all weathers and go through the ignomany of being pulled over every 5 minutes on suspicion of being a drug dealer! In any event, my personal choice would be the C63, it's got more soul than the Audi and a better image than the BM, could I be more subjective?

Take Top Gear generally with a pinch of salt. RS5 vs M3 then they drive a combine on a frozen lake in Norway with Clarkson sat on the back with a toy flame thrower! Entertainment, not much more.
I'd take the RS5. Mercs are for binary talking, grey suit wearing coffin dodgers. I just don't like their whack as big an engine in and bugger the rest approach, they lack finesse. All a bit brute force and ignorance. Some will like that, but it's not for me. As for the M3, you just have to look at the general populous that drive them, mostly tossers.

Id wager over 95% of M3 drivers would cack themselves and bin it when it gets sideways,Seriously who drives like that on the road to get the best out of the car? You would be banned or dead! Sorry fast when I want is what i require NOT when the weather allows it.

i agree with all of you, that driving fast and having the arse of your motor swinging out is not very safe for you or the poor git coming along on the other side of the road...but i thought the 5s lap time was poor when you consider the track was damp/wet
