The power and torque doesn't sound right for twin turbo 4.2 v8.
More like high revving na v8?

Second that - the RS4 is 420PS & 430Nm (317 lb ft) from a 4.2 NA V8, so 450PS & 330lb ft would be pretty rubbish for a twin-turbo 4.2 V8!
Sounds more like a remapped NA 4.2 V8 to me...

Car Magazine states:
"It's a twin turbo V8 with 450 bhp and 332lb ft of torque. Although it's just 4.2 litres it should blow your mind at the red line. Think 8000 rpm.."
"The RS 5 will run an eight cylinder engine pumping out 450bhp and 332lb ft of torque"

Like said, that is not huge gains over the RS4 V8 bearing in mind it now has two turbos. Or is that Audi's admission the RS4 never made 414bhp and needs forced induction? 36 bhp and 20 ft lbs could be gained from a remap, exhaust and manifold change.

Blown in-line 5(?) with 350hp?
Car Magazine seem to have forgotten they wrote this article last year about the RS5:
http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Secret-new ... nt-block=0 which states ~500 ftlbs of torque...

It's possible that CAR Magazine may not be correct?

No it isn't, most people who have had them RR'ed have not even got to the 400ps mark. Maybe the RS5 really is going to be what is says on the tin.

If that's the case a lot iof RS4 owners have cause to complain to Audi that their cars were never going to make 414bhp it if takes two turbos to move it on 30bhp and 15 ft.lbs of torque. Unless they are using a non-high revving V8.

The article says the rev limit will be 8000rpm, so it will still be a high-revving V8.

Let's not open up the whole RR debate again ... any result on a RR is only an estimate based on guessed transmission losses. IMHO any RR result is a complete waste of time, only an engine dyno test has any meaning.
The torque figure quoted is total rubbish for a twin turbo 4.2 V8 - that for me is what makes the whole article questionable.

My local dealer couldn't find any concrete info when I asked him about it last week....
But he did send me the article on the TT-RS....

Read the hype on here, at least one person has given their car back to audi after nearly getting legal on their ass based on his argument that it wasn't near the stated figure and it certainly doesn't feel it to me.
Anyway as Petrol says let's not open the can of worms on here again.

IMHO there should not be an RS5....should be kept to the 4 and 6 only!

What about an RS3. Now that with a V6 TT setup Id go for!
