Re: ECS Intake
Very pretty but any improvement?
Re: ECS Intake
It would probably be difficult to tell. I had a variation of 20 bhp between runs at MRC with no changes to the car at all

I have one more trip to JCWF to get the finishing touches done but this last two or three months have been really tricky for me as I had a warranty issue and Bedford Audi were being very difficult as usual, and some personal circumstances that meant I wasn't available.
I know it's dragged on for a few months (6 or so!) but JCWF really are going to release the b8 system very soon. But they don't want a boomy cobbled together system like the miltek they want it right - so that, in conjunction with my lack of availability recently has put a kybosh on moving faster. Car should be back with them in two weeks time for hopefully the last time. It's me slowing progress, not them.

Re: ECS Intake
I believe these intakes are fibreglass and then skinned with carbon fibre? I like the look of the ECS one but the competitor Eventuri, uses pre-impregnated carbon fibre for theirs and is made in the UK.

Re: ECS Intake
Purchased primarily for visuals at shows and sound - just looks more OEM to me than the Eventuri.
It's N/A so unless you supercharge mods don't massively change the feel in the seat, like map/exhaust it's another slight improvement making the best of what you have.
Throttle response a bit sharper, and above 6000rpm it feels to be more of a kick. The exhaust note is much improved though, deeper and more of an edge to it.

Re: ECS Intake
Eventuri is £1875 RRP, there was a group buy going on which gave a 15% saving on one of the forums. Eventuri are tweaking their intake scoops a little more to increase air flow and will probably help increase the numbers a little further.RossDagley wrote:Any idea on the prices Sam?
ECS one is listed as $1785 and would be liable for import duties and shipping but probably works out a fraction cheaper than the ECS one.

+1Mother of god that's expensive.
Nice bit of under bonnet bling, but not worth more than 600 notes
Re: ECS Intake
Expensive, but it does look pretty. The intake and the engone cover really make it look nice under there.
As as for it being carrbon skinned, I think I prefer that, the bits under my bonnet made of real carbon are awfully fragile and seem to stress. Not sure sure if that is the build quality but I was under the inpression that they were quite a good quality company (I've forgotten their name, but it's the usual one in / near newcastle).
Is that the OEM carbon engine cover? Looks good. The C7 OEM carbon cover has barely any carbon on it. I've seen an aftermarket fully skinned one and it looks much better and is what I'd have expected the OEM to look like.

That'll be Argon Creative stuff you have Mike which is skinned i.e. not proper Carbon Fibre. Most of their stuff falls apart given time.MikeFish wrote:As as for it being carrbon skinned, I think I prefer that, the bits under my bonnet made of real carbon are awfully fragile and seem to stress.
