2011 RS5 Remap Scotland

Post by H20 MRV » Wed Jul 15, 2015 1:45 pm

Hi All,

As above I have just bought a 2011 RS5 and am thinking of a re-map mostly to remove the speed limiter, Its very unlikely I will ever use the launch control so that's not important,

Any suggestions in Scotland? Also any other tuning tips ?

Cheers RG.

Hi and welcome, good choice of colour. I cant see the point myself as I would never go over 155mph.

Pointless

I had the factory Delimit option and the car cannot reach 174mph on an open straight without a tail wind and a down hill

Cheers Guys,

175 mph or not, I want to get the max out of it as I run in some quick company and have just stepped out of a Modded C63s, So I need to loose the limiter,
Also its not all about power or I would have kept my GTR-35 or my Porsche Turbo, its more for up north point to point, usually in the damp, Hence the move to 4x4.

You seem to have plenty of cash.. Curious, why RS5? Why not a 6? Or 7, mapped etc? Different proposition afaik

Yes, u need a charger on a 5 mate. But again, get a RS6 C7 mapped and watch the competition melt.... 10.6 qtrs etc

A TTRS or RS 3 is quicker than a chubby '5

I just took a fancy to the RS5, there is not a mark on it and I could not the way the oil industry is justify a 997GT3 :boohoo: And the 997TT though very very fast ( when modded ) is very uninvolving, superbly quick on the autobahn but not much fun on the twisties,

Also, where I do my hooning is up the west coast / north of Scotland and a RS6 / 7 is just too big as was the GTR-35, tbh the RS5 is a touch on the big side but in the wet that should make up for it, And ( Fire suit on ) I did not fancy the RS4 as the ones I looked at in saloon form were very tired and I don't fancy a estate,

If the RS5 does not hit the spot for hooning, I will keep it as a day to day car and probably go for a Porsche Cayman S as a toy car, Light, Small, Fast and with near perfect balance, Nimble and of course not costing a fortune hence a ideal hoon car !!
