So, picked up a set of the 20" V-spokes today (brilliant service from a guy on e-Bay who drove them all the way from Stafford to Aberdeenshire followed by a quick inspect then bank transfer) and deciding on which tyres to go for. e-Bay guy say go for the Dunlop's but wanted to hear what others running 20" prefer (275/30/20). Currently got the stock P Zero's at the moment and they are pants for grip and also rim protection (hence the new wheels).
Will be looking to get the rotors refurbed then finsihed with some winter tyres, most likely Dunlop's again.
Appreciate that this is a common thread but not too may running RS5's or the new RS4's so appreciate any responses.
Will post some pics of the car once the new rims are fitted, probably a couple of weeks time.
Cheers
Graeme

Re: Ok, what's your tyre preference?
i will be putting Michelin pilot super sports on my B8 RS4 next year, after the winter as i could not fault them on my B7 RS4, was looking to try the Goodyear ascimtric 2's but don't do a 265 30 20.
as for winters i used to run Verd's wintac extreme, but again they don't do a 265 fitment but they have a new extreme s with has a 275 fiment, if there anything like the old tyre they will be sarely good in the snow.
I'm sticking with the standard 265 size which limits my winter tyre to michelin alpine 4 or Conti winter contact

I know you can get 275/35/20 in goodyear assy 2 if that's help? People rave about these tyres.

Great tyre.
I don't think a 35 will fit though.

Mine has Pirelli PZero fitted...... can't comment on wet performance but in the dry they are deeply impressive.

I've seen them fitted on an S5 and I have been told by Revolution that they will fit a 20x9j on my S5. I'll find out by the end of this week!doodlebug wrote:Great tyre.

Re: Ok, what's your tyre preference?
I've just gone down the same route, V spokes and new 275/30 R20 tyres. I found there weren't too many options if you wanted to fit an Audi approved RO1 tyre. It was also a question of availability and price and in the end I went for the Bridgestone SOO1 RO1 97Y XL. You've really got to go 97Y or higher otherwise it's below the Audi recommended weight/speed rating for the RS5.
The tyre supplier said the Bridgestone was a newer construction than the Dunlop MAXX GT but then he would say that wouldn't he
Performance wise, can't really comment as they are new on and haven't been pushed. Look good though!

Re: Ok, what's your tyre preference?
In the end went for the Dunlop SportMaxx GT from Camskill. Should get them delivered tomorrow and will look to get the new wheels shod and fitted over the next couple of weeks (want to give the alloys a good seal with Wolfs Nano sealant first). Once they're scrubbed in I'll post my thoughts on noise, grip, handling etc.
Almost went for the Bridgestones as not a massive difference in price so keen to hear how they perform.
