Ah, I thought the 4 was cheaper than the 5. I'm sure Bristol Audi told me this. Fair enough then.D_K wrote:The dude said £10k saving, for the same car?! £5k per rear door is pricey!

The RS 4 is cheaper.
He's talking about a nearly new RS 5
Tbh, I'd go for a pre-facelift full spec RS 5 for £40k over a £70k new RS 4.
£30k pocket change and the same car, less 2 doors.
I know that's the age old argument of new vs. Used, but the difference is these are fundamentally the same car!

I appreciate the massive potential price saving but doesn't the FL model have some useful improvements to make it a better car than the early ones.
Maybe not worth the extra you refer to but all the same...

Yes u are right James, it is tweaked to be a better car. It also looks better with the arches and is more practical.

The new RS4 chassis/drive select tweaks have been passed onto the FL RS5. Audi have a few a few months at £58k but I've seen one at £54k. You get the flower front brake disks too.......535dboy wrote:D_K wrote:The RS 4 is cheaper.

The RS4 Avant just doesn't do it for me this time....I wonder if an RS4 Saloon would look "fatter"??

Re: thinking of buying an rs5?
I agree with you, the RS5 looks better in my opinion. If you want an estate then it's the RS4 but I don't and in the real driving world they aren't that different (if at all).Nickyboy wrote:Why? For me the RS4 is the better package overall. I would rather have an RS5 but only for looks. Surely the better package is the 4?D_K wrote:Yes buy the RS 5 instead of '4
Re: thinking of buying an rs5?
There has been three white RS5's on the used website, all three white and June 2012 facelift models, with decent specs and around 2k on the clock but all OE plates (I think they might have used at Oulton Park). One sold for just under £50k and the others are up for between £50k & £53k. All good savings over new as long as you don't mind that they have probably been ragged around a track in their short lives. Bit like the RS4's that were used on the invite days, I wouldn't want one of those as my own after seeing how some were driven!!!!
2018 RS5 Nardo Grey with the good toys - Gone
2019 Mercedes E63s AMG - Broke down 3 times - got rid

2020 RS6 Launch Edition - The right spec unlike factory orders - gone
2021 RSQ3 Sportback - Nardo Grey - gone
2022 RS Etron GT Carbon Vorsprung - Daytona Grey - gone
2023 RS6 Avant - Daytona Grey - Current

I only remember seeing 1 daddy spec RS 5 with buckets and ceramics...this was PFL. If that comes up again at £40K, that's one heck of a car vs. A brand new RS 4 ...again coming back to the fact that fundamentally they are the same car...

As long as they have warranty I wouldn't be bothered - a good ragging early on in life is not necessarily a bad thing.RSphantom wrote:There has been three white RS5's on the used website, all three white and June 2012 facelift models, with decent specs and around 2k on the clock but all OE plates (I think they might have used at Oulton Park).
