Heyyy
just wondering if there are any car alarm specialists in the north wales/chester area
been reading about the obd port issues and want to get myself additional alarm
any help be appreciated

id cut the plug off and wire an inline plug and socket for when you need the obd, then leave the obd port at home somewhere

Only thing to be careful of is that the obd port contains twisted pair wires for the data communications. If you and an inline port that's too cheap and nasty (not designed for networks) then you could upset the way the port works.

Iirc obd sockets don't work unless they have a solid +12v and ground feed on the ports. Putting a hidden switch on those feeds should do the trick but worth testing with VCDS first.
