Is there a buyer's guide?
Is there a buyer's guide?
Is there a buyer's guide for the RS5.. common faults, things to look for, things to avoid etc.. The RS6 one on this forum was very useful, but I can't see an RS5 one. Thanks!

Not that I'm aware of, but feel free to ask any questions, I've had two!

Re: Is there a buyer's guide?
Well one for sale that I was looking at, is on about 50k miles, but apparently had a new gearbox at about 37k miles. How common is that? Is it a terrible and unusual thing and perhaps the sign of a lemon that I should avoid? Or perhaps does it happen now and then and the fact it's had a new one is actually a good sign that the problem has been fixed and it shouldn't fail in the future?

If I was you I'd get on with a warranty as there have been some big bills on RS 5s. Audi used is probably your best bet.
It could be that the car has been abused and hence needed a new gearbox or could just be one of those things.
My RS 5 had a new gearbox and I reckon mine had been abused before I bought it. I bought it with a warranty though so luckily I didn't pay the 10k for the new gearbox.
