450BHP from a twin turbo 4.2 V8 does not sound that impressive.
RE: RS5 first details
slightly disappointed as it might hit residuals - thought it would be same 414bhp RS4 engine
Re: RE: RS5 first details
The driveability will be A1 thought and 500ft lbs torque is pretty special.BlingBling wrote:450BHP from a twin turbo 4.2 V8 does not sound that impressive.

If this really is what Audi have in store, then I'd better start saving...
Has the looks and turbos that the new RS4 lacks, and everything else that it does have - would be an absolute winner

Looks good
This confused me from the article;
"two small and highly responsive turbochargers that will take peak power up to the 450bhp. That’s not a great deal more than the S5’s 354bhp"
Doesn't sound too bad an increase to me!

Questions.
1. What makes that article sure that the engineering buck seen there in black is an RS5? It looks like the S5. Am I missing something?
2. If they talk about the RS5 with Turbos will we ever see an RS4 B7 with the same?
Ummmmm, food for thought.

Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

450 bhp from a twin turbo 4.2 ltr V8 ? ...not very impressive at all I'm afraid.
The 4.2 ltr from the RS4 is impressive in its power output without blowers. If ferrari can extract 483 bhp from the F430's 4.3 Ltr V8, then audi can darn well get close to the 450 bhp mark using the N/A 4.2 ltr already available. Adding turbos is just lazy (although cheaper).

That sounds like a lot of engineering to me, I don't think there is room in the engine bay for turbos, hence MTM are using a supercharger.mirkop2 wrote:the b7 rs4 doesnt need much to get to 450hp, soon people will be making aftermarket turbo kits bolt on, and bang your up to 500hp easy. not long to go now
