AUDI S6 VERSUS A6 4.2 QUATTRO

I considering selling my maserati 3200 and looking at buying an S6. Whilst looking around i have come across the Audi A6 4.2 Quattro. I know the s6 is 340bhp v's 300bhp on the A6 but is there any other differences? Same body? Also how is that extra 40bhp obtained from the S6 as essentially from what i can make out, it is exactly the same engine??
