Rear pad wear

Hi chaps,

I am the proud owner of the little brother to the S6 (the 4.2 A6).

However, my question is relevant to your cars too.

Has anyone noticed excessive rear brake pad wear on their car?

I changed my rear discs and pads about 20 months ago. The car has only covered 17,000 miles since the replacement.

My pads now appear to be very low, although they are evenly worn on both sides of the car!

The car brakes fine, there are no burning smells evident or discolouration of the discs.

Anyway, just wondered.

Cheers chaps.

I've had a few that have had partially seized rear calipers , This has lead to the rear pads wearing prematurely.

I had sticking rear calipers on my S6 they weren't siticking enough that you would notice when driving. They were fairly cheap to replace new calipers and genuine disks and pads were less than £300.
