Seriously thinking about getting mine done.
Anyone taken the plunge? Pics, results, feedback would be good.

Maybe best to ask this on the Cleaning & Car Care Forum?

Although you can always give me 300 notes and I'll quite happily come round with my bottle of T-cut and an old vest

check it all out here, all the pros stick their work up and theres lists of detailers for different areas, I've got myself a machine to polish the big girl but haven't had a chance to do it yet........but she gets plenty of coats of wax to keep the shine up

i think about it often as I am always meaning to do all the cars but I never have the chance with time and weather !
there seem to be plenty of detailers around from looking at the DW forums, i know some of them need you to have a decent sized garage around so they can do a full detail properly

You'll really need to see the Detailers work in person before booking. Ask for a test panel as most will do this for free and get it checked by someone more clued up if neccessary. The number of Pro Detailers on DW has increased about ten fold in the last year and theres good, bad and average ones. Go to a meet first and see some detailed cars to you know what you should be getting quality wise and see demo's of good and bad practice.
Price wise £250 is about right for a one day job, £500-£600 for a 2-3day job.

Registered on DW and within days of posting my inbox was flooded!!!
I'm tempted by a very competent "hobbiest" rather than a pro - price is key.
Work seems good and he's sent me pics etc of a number of cars he's worked on. Got him booked in but we'll see if anything else comes along in the meantime.
Pro's have quoted between £300-£400

Those days are gone. There too much competition for details now, just say you'll go to £250 take it or leave it. Most are valeters and getting a detail is a bonus. Who did you book with? I'll find out if there any good for you.

I know what you mean, i haven't managed to do a thing on the rig in a while apart from keeping it clean......
Whats the plans, are you thinkin of a change???? I very nearly went to look at a B5 RS4 in Dublin, which would be brilliant, but I don't think the finances would stretch at the minute so I caught myself on. Maybe sometime though......

Yes mate, either a 4x4 or 7-Seater.
B5 still looks amazing on the road and holding their values well - buyer market however so you may pick up a deal.
