S6 Newbie with a problem!

Hi all,
Have (very) recently landed myself in a C5 S6. When I bought it, it needed a new brake servo/master cylinder, so job duly done, I gave it a quick roadtest to check all was fine with the brakes.
Lovely car for 10 minutes, till the cambelt tensioner went! Now, I know that there is no definitive answer to this, but what do you think my chances are that it has not done too much damage?
There was a bit of a clacking noise from the rear of bank 2, but engine still ran (obviously I shut it off as quickly as was practical, but it ran OK, for a car with a loose cambelt!) and other than that noise, which is definitely from the rear of the bank in my opinion, there were no horrific bangs, smoke or seizing!
Anyone had one go in the past? Do we reckon I am in for a slight prostate massaging, or a full on trousers down and bend over?
Cheers all,
Dan
