Hiya
I'm looking at an S6 avant, 2000 yr with 35k miles, its up for just 26k! this either seems cheap, or the depreciation on this car is crap
How are other people finding the residual values?
Ross.

Re: s6's values
Saw a similar S6 for sale this week on the Autotrader site-except it was a Saloon. 2001 Y reg 36k miles RS6 wheels/grille/bonnet/sat nav TV etc...=£26k
Depreciation city ahead with the new A6 coming in 2004 I would have thought

Re: s6's values
Could it be that Audi is over-cooking the Goose? In marketing terms, there is too much "noise" - not the same clear message we tend to get from its rivals about product targeting & positioning? The also rans such as "S6's" tend to suffer. I drive a 180ps A6 2.5 Tdi right now = that sort of size/engine has got popular appeal. I think I would prefer to get an RS6 at a good price, rather than buy an S6 and spend lots of money to make it look like an RS6.

Re: s6's values
the S6 was always going to head for major depreciation. why? it's not a great car in the first place. it doesn't quite know whether it's a sports car or a luxury saloon, but doesn't quite do both either. it's also in the shadow of the S4 and thr RS range. youhave ot ask yourself why you'd bother with an S6 in the first place when Audi (let alone other manufacturers) offer so many better alternatives. if you're in the market for one of these cars, wait a while, they've got further to fall yet.
