Chrome roof rail cleaning.

Post by TiTony » Tue May 19, 2009 10:48 pm

Hi,

Anybody got an idea of the best method to clean the chrome roof rails on my 02 Avant? They have started to look cloudy and would like to get them back to looking good.

Cheers,

Tony

Yeah,

Tried the autosol which did make them shine but they're still a bit too cloudy for my liking so will have to source a new bit of advice if anyone has got it?

They are, as the rest of the car, actually in good condition so a bit gutted that they are looking cloudy.

Any ideas?

Tony,

Dont ask how I found it out, but white vinegar worked wonders to get the shine back into mine.

Just be careful if you've waxed the car recently, as it'll strip it off.

I found it works best putting a generous amount onto a clean cotton cloth and then rubbing them down.

Cheers for the tip.

Was a bit disappointed with the autosol so will give it a try at the weekend.
