Yep the 2000 model requires ignition key to release them, not sure whether it is a 60/40 split as still finding out things about the car (I just keep driving it :)) and not put them down yet.

Yes it's a 60/40 split and you can leave them unlocked, you don't need the key to release them each time unless you have them locked of course :)
