End of Term Report - S4 (B8) S-Tronic

it goes back on Monday....its done 9,500 miles and its been to Paris and the Nurburgring !
This is my 2nd B8 S4, first was a manual, but this S-Tronic I was keen to try after really enjoying the 7Speed S-tronic in my last TTRS.
I also spec'd the SuperSport Seats in this one which I didnt have in my 1st one...this made a huge difference to how special the car felt inside and also the quality of the leather (nappa) is much better than the std Milano
so SuperSport seats are a MUST HAVE option
In terms of other spec, I had Tech Pack High, which again I think is a must ... otherwise its pretty decently spec'd from the factory
but I was unable to spec the necessary performance options such as ADS, Sport Diff etc
I went for Monsoon Grey which was the closest I could spec to Daytona Grey, and it really suits the car ... much better than the boring black I had before.
First impressions with the S-tronic box were dissapointing tbh
worse MPG than the Manual, and couldnt be in full control of the gear changes when in M mode ... it would change up by itself and also not rev to the red line
it will only rev to the red line in Sport (S) or when you full press the throttle and press the little button until the throttle (past WOT)
Handling is ok ... bit boat like, steering is too light ... but as I said, mine is bog standard without the amazing trickery
in the end, I really enjoyed it for what it is ... a big comfy cruiser ... very fast when you need it to be, makes a nice rumble WOT and nice gearchange BOOM ... nice ride, quiet cabin ... bags of technology
I ended up really prefering the S-Tronic for this purpose
So, in summary .. S4 S-tronic ... superb cruiser
in the right spec, and a few choice mods ... im sure it could be a bruiser ... but I'd go for the manual if I was going down that route
