Stratmosphere QuickShifter

Am nearly 2 weeks in to running my new to me (but 6 months old) S4 and continue to love it a lot. It's somewhat different to my C5 RS6 but I like having a manual again in a car that is so much more interactive than the old Milennium Falcon....
I'm being tempted by a short shifter conversion, as they are good value, look to be superbly engineered and the vids on the website make it look like a really snickerty-snick conversion.

Quite fancy giving one a go. Anyone think of a decent reason why not?

Jules if you can wait to mid April mine will be fitted. It's a long time to wait I know but if you have no luck tying one between then and now the offers there.

Have decided to give it a go and it's coming UPS as I write. Will report back once fitted. Also close to trying an MTM Cantronic box - now that'll be nice!
Birmingham and back today at normal traffic flow speed and averaged over 30mpg, which coming from an RS6 is truely unheard of.....

In theory, yes, but as I have no ramp and eyesight not up to working 4 inches from my nose I'll ask the QST boys to fit it when they do the Cantronic box perhaps.

Shifter now fitted. It arrived quickly from Stratmosphere it is beautifully engineered and very nicely made. Took the QST boys less than an hour to fit and I am well impressed with the results. The shift is really short and sweet - not far off that of a classic Ford/Caterham7 in terms of snickerty-snick. The box on my car is a little stiff when stone cold, but is fine after a couple of miles once warm and I'd say the feel of the change now with the quick shifter is actually nicer in terms of action as well as length of shift. It feels really nicely 'oiled' and it was money very well spent IMHO.
Recommended!
