Picked mine up

Post by HYFR » Tue Apr 12, 2011 9:12 am

picked it up 8am this morning

Not sure whats standard, but

Phantom Black
Milano Leather
Tech Pack
Cruise
Heated Seats
Auto boot
LED DRL's

Only done 3 miles in it to work, but OMG its RAPIDO !! easily as quick as a B7 RS 4 in a straight line.

and the Supercharge whine is amazing

Will update with some thoughts after a few miles

Thought you'd gone for an Avant for some reason. How would you know how it compares to the RS4 with just 3 miles on the clock!! :o

Surprised you went with those alloys after saying you didn't like them on the TTS. Those cannot be 18s? They look so lost in the arches!

Love the token effort to disguise the plate!

Yeah the wheels are a big let down

Should have specd 19s

Mmmm will have to re distort the plates!

I think its the added torque which makes it feel as quick

Will have to get the missus to do some runs side by side

Me in the RS thou

She's not allowed to drive that!

Will be interesting to read the comparisons. I suspect the S4 will be as quick in everyday running but not feel as special? I also doubt the fuel economy will be much better....

I know this might seem harsh but I think that looks inexcusably bland. Nice sleeper and a perfect work car though...

Anyone know what V6T means on that front wing?

Maybe the wheels will fill the arches better when the suspension has settled a bit more? Neighbour has a Mugello Avant on RS6 style 19s and I must say it looks great - beefy but nice and subtle and discrete - just like my B6. I'd be removing those chav side badges personally.

Bam, not harsh at all

I totally agree

Bland as a bread sandwhich

But is a great stealth car and is sooo comfortable esp compared to TTS

Just done 200 miles to manchester and I can say I'm positively impressed as a cruiser

Suspension is really comfortable, yet to put it through its paces in the twisties but will have a chance tonight and in the morning

Squeezed 28mpg from it at mostly 85mph cruise which will only get better as the engine beds in

The sat nav is the 3d one and theyv changed the woman on it but its great

Got some other spec aswel

Auto dimming rear mirror
Auto lights
Auto wipers
Electric front seats with lumber

Bam

V6T is. Obviously 6 cylinders in a V config turbo

Even thou its very certainly supercharged! Think Audi had a blonde moment with the badges

Yeah, it was the "T" bit that I couldn't figure... it ain't a turbo. What's German for Super Charger?

Front end looks good. Interior looks like a nice place to be.

Nice mate. Bit of a shame you haven't got ADS, as that, on Dynamic setting, with the sport diff, would be a very interesting comparison with your RS in the handling dept. Popular consensus on here is the RS would cream it but I'm not so sure. But like you say, not too shabby for a company car at all!

Ahhhh, yes! Now I remember, EVO mag loved the S4 with ADS. Said they could get the rear to steer very easy making it one of the most tail happy Audi's in their memory. Do you have it Pete?

Literally had a blast on some country roads

This thing is nuts

I can see what you mean pete re. Ads and the car pulls like a train but doesn't have the poise and control in the handling as the RS on DRC

But boy oh boy does it go

Its feels like a stock RS 6 in terms of power

Really would like to have a drag vs a RS as I fear the torque might be confusing my senses

The sound is great as well from the whine of the charger

No sound from the zorst thou

I'm really liking this motor!

bye bye

I have the s-tronic.....will nail most things off the lights with no input apart from the right foot...I have the Audi Hill Assist a.k.a. auto hand brake. Slow down to stop at lights,, wait for them to change and bam......100 before you know it. The B7 RS4 with the 8 speed RS5 box......ultimate drag racer!!

You are right aka re: handling...DRC was just a different class. Supple when slow and solid yet forgiving when having a blast.

I am toying with Milltek...but have 5 year warranty and don't want to affect that.

Glad the S4 forum has picked up.............. :jump_clap:

Yea I do Bam. To be honest I've only felt its affects a few times as I don't track my car & you have to drive like an absolute hooligan for it to kick in...but when it does, it's an amazing bit of kit. It certainly lightens up the back end ;) For all its good though, I still think Audi can improve the steering - when I jumped out of mine straight into my brother's 335i the road feel on corner entry was like chalk & cheese.
