Alloy wheel options

Post by elrao » Wed Jan 06, 2010 9:56 pm

My new S4 came specced with the RS4 style twin 7 spokes. Personally I would have chosen the RS6 style wheels.

Most wheel shops don't seem to have options for the B8 S4 online yet, was wondering if anyone knew what the width / offset and bore was for these wheels so I could see if I could find some online, then maybe use one set for winter and the other for 'summer'

Unless anyone wants to swap wheels with me! LOL

Both the RS4 and RS6 alloys are 19" x 8.5J with 255x35x19 tyres.

Cheers, will have a close look at the wheels tomorrow when I pick it up! Centre bore has changed from 57.1 to 66.5 (IIRC, something like that anyway) on the B8 compared to the previous generations of VAG cars that were all 57.1/

All i know is that the RS6 wheel are nice, but they are not +1k nice though. I recon they would be a nightmare to clean as well.

My car came specced with the RS4 wheels, which I like but they are a very common after market wheel, on a lot of A4s, A3s, TTs ... where as there are less running the RS6 wheel and they really suit the S4. Think they are about £600 more than the RS4s aren't they?

Emailed the eBay chap and no reply!

If you want to be different don't go for the new RS6 wheel. I (virtually!) guarantee it'll be the next common wheel.

In the US the S-lines were getting them as standard. It's only a matter of time before they become the "standard" alloy.

I've currently got the same as you. Not too unique but they do suit ;)

once the C6 RS 6 goes out of production, they WILL be the standard S line wheel and you will see them everywhere

has happened with EVERY RS wheel

Yes you did mate! Recognised your user name, useful when people use the same names on different forums, ScoTTy is on the TTF too! LOL

I still like the RS6s, but can't justify buying another set of wheels when I've just paid all that cash for a new car!

I got mine very early on and sold it after 3.5 years when it was still worth good money and before the Mrk II was coming.

I imported it for £24.5 had it 3.5 years, did countless trackdays, loads of laps of the 'ring (finishing all but one!!!!!!) and then old it for £17k. Best value car I've had.

i had a TT quattro sport 240.
I bought it when it was 3 yrs old and it had only done 5,500 miles when I bought it!

I p/x it for an RS 6 in 2008.

Thing is, I regret that I recon even if I kept it to now and put 20k on it, It would be worth exactly the same

and it could get 40mpg on a motorway run !
