Brief appearance on last night's Top Gear, unfortunately presented in a rather negative way due to the nature of the feature, but looked very very smart.

Saw it. Considering the fact the VXR has +200bhp more than the S4 I thought it did a damn fine job of keeping the VXR at bay. The VXR only came past at the end of the drag race. Interestingly Clarkson reviewed the VXR in the Times and was not overly impressed. He was quite last night.

Jezza doesn't like it, Hamster does.
Personally I don't think I could put up with that supercharger's whine all the time!

Mod the S4 and it'll be quicker than the VXR anyway. MTM are doing 430bhp remaps already...

The MTM upgrade is a pulley and a remap. Remap alone won't yield 100bhp. Nice if it could but alas.

That's why I can hardly bear that programme anymore. The S4 spanked the VXR good 'n proper off the line and was ahead, what, up to at least 70mph, so what's he going on about "say you're at the lights..."? You'll get cained, real-world, that's what son! In a smarter-looking motor with 200 less bhp!

Fully agree. The programme has losts it way over the years. Ironically when Clarkson reviewed the VXR for Timesonline he hated it. Yes it was quick, well not as quick as the S4, but the SC whine drove him mad, the ride was appalling and the qulity was not quite there. No surprises there then.

my exact thoughts re. the S4 beating the VXR in real world situation. . . surely the entire viewing audience saw had the same thought ! and that's be for a remap

also, give it some corners and im sure the Quattro would pull the VXR's pants down also

The S4 looked great! Easily beat the Vauxhall imho Looked everywhere online, can't seem to find any for sale!!? I thought deliveries were due in April?
