2008 model S4 to be a twin Turbo

Sorry if this is old news to you all, but Audi are going back to the twin turbo V6 set-up for the new S4. I saw it a week or so on Audiworld and forgot to mention it then!
Said to be 3.0 V6 with 300 bhp so no leap forward at all (apart from maybe price, but I guess the market says it still should be around 38k) .... it will be heavier too! so will probably perform the same as a B5?

Well at least it has potential by the sounds of it like the b5 and unlike the b7!

Is it not a variant of the 2.7 unit? If so, stage1 to 380bhp...?

Having seen the performance figures/bhp and lbft of the BMW 335d it makes me wonder if the new S4 will be sufficient to warrant the 's' badge
OK I know its 4wd, but it's going to need more than 45bhp difference or whatever to 'see one off' ...in the dry.
BUT the benefits are that in an Audi you get indicators that work and you are likely to be let out of side roads by other road users

I think it looks like a barge from the front and a new 3-series BMW from the back (infact i'm convinced they are the same doors and sills!).
Still, it will at least attract the turbo enthusiasts back... <steps back and watches 2nd hand value plummet>

yes... in fact I think the Audi (A5 and new A4) and BMW 3 series look too similar
This may mean that you will not get let out of side roads in either!

the K03 turbos in the B5 S4 were at times prone to trouble. Enthusiasts took turbo issues in stride by using failures as the requisite excuse to pursue RS4-type tuning.
they got that spot on..

It is not decided whether or not it will be turbo charged. One thing is for sure forced induction it will be but whether or not that is SC or TC remains to be seen. Also they are looking for customer launch 3rd quarter 2008 so expect a official launch at one of the spring motorshows.
A member of TSN has a source and he has yet to be wrong when it comes to divulging insider info.

no its fsi more like the 2.0T , but thats not a bad thing either
how much does this beast weigh now?
the diff sounds interesting a little like the quaife?
