Seriously considering a non-res (Race) Milltek, with the oval tips, for my 2010 manual Avant.
Heard some clips on YouTube, sounds great (obviously), but as my daily car which I use for family stuff etc, I'm a bit concerned that it might drone too much and start to annoy me (eg. on the motorway), or have the kids/wife complaining!
Has anyone got one, and can give any insight to the drone (or not, hopefully)? Or on the fit? (some I've seen online seem to protrude in a bit of a "wheelbarrow" way - just badly fitted?)
(even better if you're in the Midlands and you can show me! )
It's expensive of course, but I've given up looking for a 2nd-hand one, so will probably have to bite the bullet with a new one.
Thanks.
Anyone got a Milltek non-res?

I'm not near you I'm near London but I was in the same boat wanted an exhaust couldn't ever find one 2nd hand. I was looking at the scorpion milltek BCS back boxes. I ended up going non res milltek there is drone but it's subjective for everyone. I notice it's around 60-65mph if I drive steady but I never drive at the speed I'm usually 70+ or under 40. It gets louder with age too and also when you get it mapped. I have a video let me see if I can find it. Mines a daily driver too.

Thanks. And for the clip. Is yours manual or auto? (as there seems to be more comment around non-res drone with autos)benjaminjeffreys wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2017 10:50 pmI ended up going non res milltek there is drone but it's subjective for everyone.

Mines auto. But I don't regret it sounds so much better than stock. The drone is not as bad as what I was lead to believe though.

Re: Anyone got a Milltek non-res?
I've got a full Milltek Valvesonic system with downpipes and the oval tips. With valves closed, it's a bit throatier than stock, and absolutely zero drone. We've got an 11 month old, so a family friendly system was an absolute must for me, and this is absolutely perfect.
As soon as the valves are opened, it gets loud!
Valves can be opened manually at all times with the press of a button (fitted in place of front cigarette lighter), or they open automatically when the revs hit 4000rpm as there's a fancy little control unit that taps into the CANBUS.
Cost the previous owner £3k from Demon Tweaks when it was fitted last year!
Will be taking it off in a few weeks to put the car back to stock for sale. I've got it advertised at £1500, and is pretty much as new. Drop me a PM if you're interested.
