DSG Failure

Hello Everyone,

It's been a long time since I last posted anything. But life kind of got in the way :-) anyway I come seeking advice. My story although crazy I hope to solve ASAP. I left the UK in 2011 and moved to South Africa......with my 2009 B8 S4. Had a B7 RS4 for a few years before that (never should have sold it)

The S4 has been treating me fine, it's been serviced at Audi Centre Cape Town regularly. About two weeks ago I got the dreaded....."Gearbox Malfunction you may continue driving"....then last week I lost reverse, 2nd, 4th and 6th.

Dealer quoted me £10K to replace and install new gearbox/transmission.

My question where can I source a new gearbox (might even consider reconditioned or used) from in the UK or Europe?

Your help guidance and insight will be greatly appreciated.

Herschel

Are you sure it needs it? I had a similar issue and main AD quoted me 9k. Took it too an independent specialist and he diagnosed it as circuit board failure. A known issue which Audi sell a £380 repair kit for. All in a total repair bill of around £1200 (covered by my third party warranty) and car fine ever since.
