2010 S4 Sat Nav
2010 S4 Sat Nav
It appears I have been a bit of a tw*t today, I thought that the Sat nav in my car was DVD based from the DVD in the dash, however, after getting a 2016 disc to update the system I popped the DVD in, and nothing, SO now I am thinking it maybe HDD driven, how can I tell if its HDD or DVD based. I know this sounds a dumb question but if its DVD based I genuinely don't know where the DVD player for it is...? or if its HDD how the hell I update it without removing a limb and giving it to Audi...
Re: 2010 S4 Sat Nav
I think you'll find its HDD based, do you have music jukebox? If you do then definitely HDD.
It is possible to update it yourself all the necessary can be found on the web, unofficially of course!
It's not easy, I think I read it takes hours!! to do, God knows why.
There's a bit about it in this piston heads thread somewhere.

A lot easier to go buy a cheapish Garmin with free lifetime maps (not what you wanted to hear I know)

Re: 2010 S4 Sat Nav
What 'controller' / DVD player / SSD Card slots do you have?
IF this http://www.a5oc.com/forums/a5-general-q ... ystem.html
it's Tech Pack 'low' so you need to leave the DVD in (or rip a copy to an SD card and use one of the slots for the Nav, but does leave the DVD player free to play CDs if that's your thing)
If the big wheel below the gearstick has the 'joystick' bit in the centre - then you are HDD based and the link above helps
