Tyre pressure advice needed

Had a new set of Goodyear F1 Assy fitted yesterday (255/35 R19) to replace a set of worn-down Conti's. Trusted the local HiQ with the job, and all seemed well. No rim marking, all well and good. Didn't check pressures, as I foolishly trusted them to do the job.....

So a good trip today yielded a quieter ride and better coasting, but the handling felt mushy and vague. Just as if the tyres were too soft and squashing (turn front end in, rear felt like it wanted to oversteer). So I checked the pressures, and the osr was packing 56psi ffs. Nsr was 36, nsf at 40 and osf at 36!!! Unreal. No wonder it felt like a pig on stilts.

Car is stickered for 18s on the door label, so I'm looking for some guidance. Previously ran the Conti's at 36 rears and 38 fronts and that's where the F1's are now. There's usually only me in the car - not 3 bods and a suitcase as the Sticker suggests. If anyone has any experience of ideal pressures for the 255/35 19s, I'm all ears. Ta

Pretty sure my 19s are 41F 38R but I'd have to double check...whatever they're at, it's the pressures listed in the handbook for 19s.

Thanks Fliptop. Will tweak them up a few more pounds and see how she feels.
