Wheel advice

Post by P300 » Sat Feb 20, 2016 9:01 am

Coming home late the other night with the car fully loaded with heavy boxes (have been moving house and picked up a load of stuff from storage) I hit a pretty nasty pot hole. I got the car checked and it's very slightly buckled both wheels on that side.

So - I can either look at getting the wheels repaired by an alloy specialist or replace them. Given the less than perfect state of the wheels all round, replacement of 2 would look at bit odd. I have 19" V spokes.

Anyone have any experience of repairs - spoke to company who said they can do it but will there be any longer term safety concerns?

If I replace any ideas where I could just pick up 4 replacement V spokes without the costs being ridiculous?

This has inevitably happened at a time when life is utterly mental with the house move, work being stupidly busy and everything else in the world seemingly all happening at the same time. These things never happen when you have a load of free time to deal with them, lol!

Safety first springs to mind. why not purchase 2 to replace the buckled ones, and refurb the other 2 so they all look ok?

or buy 5:

I had thought of the same thing - my wheels needed a refurb so either look in to whole new set or buy a used set and go from there.

sorry for the probably idiotic question but just want to make totally sure - Are the B8 S4 and B8 RS4 wheels interchangeable? If I can pick up a set like the ones you listed, that would work great just to get things sorted out and the car safe and useable again.
