Car seen better days!

Post by u22mjd » Sun Oct 11, 2015 6:00 pm

So unfortunately my pride joy is looking a little worse for wear! Coming home yesterday at the speed limit in the outside lane of a dual carriage way some <beep> comes down a slip road and pulls straight out in front of me. RS5 brakes worked well but an emergency stop at 70mph we ended up connecting but amazingly wasn't rear ended and car was drive able. Now insurance fun phoned Adrian Flux and my policy is with a company called Red Star Equity so we'll see how it goes! Doesn't look to bad but bonnet badly out of sink, steel bar behind number plate well and trually bent and bumper appears to have moved forward six inches!

As above. Glad you are okay. Good luck with the insurers - try and get the other party to admit liability in writing if you haven't already

As mentioned in another thread recently, one of my relatives was hit whilst stationary by someone driving his bosses car. They scrapped down the side of my relatives car before swerving off the road into a tree. A made up witness statement later and it went down as my relative at fault. Dragged on for about 9 months but insurer unwilling to go to court

PS. What country / where abouts are you? Winter tyres on already?

Cheers lads all very true! Winter tyres went on last week as the Summer rubber was getting a bit low however saying that it's been below 7 degrees 4 mornings last week. The battle begins tomorrow with insurance and the 3rd party said to me "You must have been going some!" nothing to do with not looking clown!

This is exactly why I have dashcams in all my cars.
