haha :) car should be back in Falkirk by now, back bumper to be painted and trim sorted, clutch and dmf done, new handle fitted for the keyless, etc etc.

They say no misfire but I just don't understand. Without looking up the law does this constitute a warranty claim on their two month worry free one if it happens after I bed the clutch in? Since it was a reported (and diagnosed) issue?

I cancelled the two year 3rd party warranty and service plan and am away to Audi Tyneside in the future, e.g. how can they service it if they can't scan all the modules? Also the cool off period was 28 days, I've hardly had the car to cool off on lol.

Anyway they've been great, all genuine parts too I was told, and also got a new set of S4 mats all round. Should pick her up next week.

I should add they are extending their two month warranty to cover 'garage time'

I don't want to start a whole debate or slagging match (past experiences!) but I quite like the look of the Shark Stage 1 map.

Anyone reading have it? MRC have squeezed everything from it, that's obvious from the torque curve, also Shark is closer and I know the owner :)

Car's been sweet as a nut, clutch nearly bedded in so going for a custom map next.

With the help of a tuner friend and my experience with can and stuff I'm going to make a ram logger to get it done correctly.

Only going for Stage 1, that will be enough, but with the full ECU docs plenty of fun to be had, need to acquire the cable after xmas, unlock the ecu, write the diag software etc, or just use VCDS if it's fast enough.

Might find some cool things en-route you never know, I'll be studying the DIS can messages for sure ;)

Reasons:

1. MRC - Too Far for me
2 Shark - I tried but failed to get a deal done with Ben - map looked great, mikkko I assume looked great :) .
3. Once I'm finished the cable can be resold for a good price.
4. Challenge!

Let's see how it goes :) I wish here was a full read going around so I could be 100 % sure of the disassembly as I have (1/4) missing.

Adding extra functions like shift light, boost gauge on DiS might not be an impossibility.

As for the car, love the power, diff and throttle map on dynamic mode, every other one sucks!

No misfires since the new clutch but I've not been driving it anywhere near it's limit since the new clutch/cmf/ etc.

Finally I tip my hat to Arnold Clarks aftercare, brilliant, although how they ccan sell and S4 or take a trade in without a VAG code reader i do not know. Bumper Fixed, New Clutch, DMF, fluids, keyless locking, etc so a happy bunny.

You should not rule out Rick at Unicorn Motorsports, Stockport - its another mapping option and worth a call, no doubt. Not too far south for you...

OK clutch bedded in nicely pulls like TRAIN with a silky gear change :)

Map time, going to try and unlock the ecu myself first then take it from there as a project :)

All sorted and stuck together a map, flashed, and well it has transformed the car, I'd like to know what could keep up with it because it piles past 155 and keeps going!

Well it's just a rough stage one, not hard (for me) est 420 BHP or so going only by a little 'flight' data and my backside, I suspect getting another 40-60HP or so will be a challenge, but I'll need to finish my software first, but I have other 'work' priorities at present. Then will maybe look at a pully depending on my end results and hit a Dyno! to finish up!

I like this part of car ownership, I nearly cracked and bought a map last week, glad I didn't as I enjoy it. I'm going to redo the normal mode throttle mapping next as I hate it and advanced is great but the diff is wild in the wet! Yes I know there is custom in the menu but still leaves the pedal map poor for me.
