Advice please!
Hi all,
I'm currently in an A6 Avant ultra and although the car is a brilliant place to be, it's doing nothing for me and I need to get back into a petrol.
Have my name down for the new RS3 but my wife has basically vetoed it on size (2 toddlers with all standard baggage!) so I'm now in a quandary.
Do I go for a nicely optioned new S4 or the newly released golf r estate? Clearly the golf loses ground instantly being a 4cyl and having a fairly low rent interior, but having driven the hatch, they are a lot of fun. Still haven't been able to get a test drive in an s4 with diff/ads etc but pretty sure I won't be disappointed.
My question is with the b9 on the way (I can't wait another year!) does it still make sense to go with the outgoing s4?!
This is the spec I'd go for.

Take a b8 avant out for the day with the kids ....I wish I had before I bought my rs4 . Presuming the b9 is size comparable then I would need something bigger. My brothers manages with his avant but I came down from and x5 space wise and it's a struggle. Driving the car is a different matter though and I love that part!!

Re: Advice please!
I expect there would be some cracking deals on a new B8 S4 as an update is imminent. Expect around 5-7k off. Haggle hard! You won't get that on a B9
Re: Advice please!
Considered a lightly used RS4? A £42k 2014 RS4 would almost certainly have better residuals than the same £42k spent on a new 2015 S4

That is exactly what I would like, but struggling on the finance due to much higher apr's on used. Have spoken with Oracle, but looks like they are still pushing 1-150 a month more than a really well specced s4. Tell me I'm wrong - please!!!!Ian_C wrote:Considered a lightly used RS4? You'll get much better discounts through website car wow, if you can still place orders. Lots of RS4 Avants, not many used S4 Avants so it limits your choices with used......

I believe a few people on here have tried telling the dealer they already have finance arranged at 4.9%..... but you will go with Audi if they will match it.Chiefbadger wrote:That is exactly what I would like, but struggling on the finance due to much higher apr's on used.
