Had my MOT last week and all fine except front discs were at minimum (actually 0.5mm below). This was annoying as I had new pads fitted two months ago and, at the time, was told the discs did not need changing. Grrrrr
Anyway, I've new discs in the garage and want to know if I can get them on quickly, before the pads wear too much.
Do I have to remove the pads , or parts thereof, to get the calipers off or is it just a question of undoing a couple of bolts and moving out of the way ? Presumably though, as the new discs will be a bit thicker, it may be a tight fit getting the calipes back on with pads still in place.
Anyone know where I can find an illustrated 'how to' I can look at ?

I've not changed s4 discs but I have changed lots of others. You'll have to remove the calipers, probably two bolts if like other VAGs. May be a caliper hanger to remove. Undo the holding screw on the disc. May require an impact driver if stuck. Swap disc (tap with rubber mallet if stuck to hub (doubt it will be). Refit new. Reverse all the rest back on. Job done.

You'll need to retract caliper. I use a tool from halfords.

PS rear discs will require access to VCDS to retract ebrake (calipers)
